Youth-specific resources are made available and SFCSS makes every
effort to keep the youth safe until they can be directly connected with
appropriate resources or youth shelters.
In an after-hours, emergency situation, Surrey Street Youth Services can arrange safe, overnight accommodations.
Surrey Street Youth Services also works with schools and youth
organizations in an effort to educate youth about the dangers and
seriousness of addiction, homelessness, and predators.

PROGRAM FEATURES
Inter-Agency Education Programs - the Inter-Agency Education Programs
include the
LINKS, AGE, and
TREES Programs. These programs combine academic programming
with recreational activities and individual, group and family counselling
services. These programs are delivered in partnership with the Surrey School
District.
ASTRA Drug and Alcohol -
The ASTRA program assists youth who have demonstrated problems with alcohol
and/or drug use. The goal of the program is to move targeted youth towards
reducing or abstaining from all problematic substance use.
Community Counselling Clinic - Provides Surrey residents easy
access to free counselling services.
FYI - This program assists families to have strong and
comprehensive care teams engaged in meeting the needs identified by the family.
It provides consultation to community services to enhance knowledge of the
effects of FASD. Please contact the program's social worker to arrange
consultation appointments.
Immediate
Response Program - Provides brief intervention counselling for youth and
their families to improve family functioning. The overall objective is to
enable families to live together successfully.
Independent Living Skills/Next Steps -
This service is delivered by OPTIONS and it assists youth working toward

in their family setting.
Prevention - The goal of the prevention
program is to reduce the likelihood that youth will start using substances and
slow the rate at which alcohol and other drug problems develop among youth
within the community.

Reconnect is an outreach service that provides information, referrals and
support to youth who want to connect to services, community and/or

supports youth to exit a situation or lifestyle in which they are being sexually
exploited.
